Superintendent's Message
Dear CJUHSD Parents and Guardians,
What a year it has been! As the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close, I am filled with an immense sense of pride in all that our students and school communities have accomplished. This year has been one of growth, perseverance, and meaningful connection, and through every challenge and triumph, our students have continued to inspire me with their heart, their dedication, and their unwavering resilience.
From the energy of Friday night football games to classroom visits filled with curiosity and creativity, and from celebrating milestones in the arts to honoring achievements in academics, I have been privileged to witness the incredible spirit that defines our CJUHSD students firsthand. They rise to meet every challenge with strength of character, and I am truly inspired by what I see each and every day.
To the extraordinary Class of 2026: Congratulations, graduates! Your commencement ceremonies have concluded, and with them came a richly deserved celebration of everything you have worked for and achieved. I have had the honor of meeting many of you throughout your time here, and I say this with complete confidence — our future is bright with you leading the way. Your journey is just beginning, and I cannot wait to see all that lies ahead for you.
For students currently enrolled in summer school, that program is underway now through June 25, 2026. We encourage students to make the most of this valuable opportunity, whether they are recovering credits, getting a jump on the year ahead, or sharpening their skills. Students with questions should connect with their school counselor.
To all of our families, thank you for your steadfast support and partnership throughout this school year. Together, we have built a community where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. We look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year with renewed hope and excitement — the first day of school is August 5, 2026, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back.
Wishing you all a fun, relaxing, and safe summer break!
Sincerely,
Mathew Holton, Ed.D.
